Walking into a room and catching a whiff of that unmistakable mildew smell lingering in the carpet is unwelcome at best. Discover how a simple baking soda trick can transform your space and bring freshness back into your home.

MABEL’S WISDOM

Zipper Troubles? Try This!

We didn't have fancy gadgets to fix stuck zippers when I was young, but we had some trusty remedies. Grab a bar of soap or a candle if your zipper is giving you a hard time. Rub it gently along the teeth of the zipper, and you'll see it glide smoothly in no time.

A bit of graphite from a pencil often works well for extra stubborn zippers. Just color the teeth with the pencil and watch the magic happen.

Remember, sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. Grandma's tricks from the good old days never fail!

FOOD STORAGE

Reaching for a can of evaporated milk in the pantry only to find it's gone bad is an unpleasant surprise, just like that time we discovered the hidden stash of expired spices in the back of the pantry. Discover how to spot spoiled evaporated milk with these handy tips, and never let a recipe go awry again!
