MABEL’S WISDOM

A Good Old-Fashioned Grease Buster

Back in my day, we didn't have a fancy cleaner for a greasy range hood. We used a simple method that always did the trick.

First, mix up a paste with baking soda and a splash of water. Spread this paste on the greasy spots and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then, scrub it off with a damp cloth, and you'll have a sparkling clean range hood just like in the good old times.

CLEANING

We all know how frustrating it can be to deal with sticky residue on our beautiful wood surfaces. Once, we tried every trick in the book to remove a stubborn sticker from the coffee table. Well, here are seven brilliant ideas that actually work!

TIP OF THE DAY

Can You Believe These Seeds Are Still Fresh?

Store your garden seeds in airtight containers. Glass jars with tight-fitting lids work wonders. Add a silica gel packet to absorb moisture and keep the seeds dry.

Label each jar with the seed type and date and keep them in a cool, dark place like a basement or a refrigerator. Your future garden will thank you!

BUG CONTROL

We've all had summer afternoons interrupted by the unwelcome buzz of yellow jackets. Did you know that a simple mixture of soap and water can be a game-changer in dealing with these pesky invaders?

FICTITIOUS QUOTE OF THE DAY

Mice are like bad dates; they show up unannounced and eat all your food.
