TIP OF THE DAY
Rubbing Alcohol - Secret Weapon in Your Laundry Room

Rubbing alcohol dissolves the waxy coating on grass blades that clings to fabric. Pour a small amount of 70% isopropyl alcohol onto a cotton ball, then dab the stain until you see green transfer to the cotton.
Replace the cotton ball as it gets dirty and keep dabbing until no more color lifts. Rinse the spot with cold water, then wash the garment. This method works especially well on dried or set-in grass stains that soap alone can't budge.
CLEANING
A freshly stained deck can add thousands to a home's value , but skipping the cleaning step causes most stains to peel within a single season. We found five methods that strip away dirt, mildew, and old finish without damaging the wood underneath.
FUN FACT
Was Freon once considered so safe that salesmen inhaled it on stage?
Early Freon demonstrations included breathing the vapor and then using it to blow out a candle. Before Freon, refrigerators used ammonia, methyl chloride, and sulfur dioxide, all of which could leak and kill entire families. Freon had no odor, didn't burn, and appeared completely harmless to humans. That safety reputation lasted decades. | ![]() |
