Turn off and unplug the device, then use a microfiber cloth dampened—not soaked—with 70% isopropyl alcohol to wipe each key and the spaces between them. For stubborn grime, dip a cotton swab in the alcohol and run it along the edges and crevices.

Allow two minutes of air-drying before plugging back in. Alcohol evaporates quickly and won't damage electronics when applied to a cloth first, and it kills 99.9% of common pathogens without leaving residue.

Surfboard Maker Accidentally Invented the Modern Skateboard

Bill Richards built the first skateboard in 1958 because his son Mark wanted to "surf" the streets of Southern California when the ocean was flat. Bill owned the Val Surf shop in North Hollywood and attached roller-skate wheels to a plank of wood, creating what he called a "sidewalk surfboard."

Within two years, surf shops across California were selling thousands of these boards.
